'Seascape'

'Seascape'

The Seascape was designed from a black and white sketch of a two-tone fur cape designed by Erté. Itwas made for the Mirror of Success award in Pauline Turner’s International Crochet Awards in 1997 and it also fulfils the requirement for one of the Diploma's Part III projects to be an 'Art to Wear' item.

It is a simple chevron design using trebles and each of the dangly things at the hem is different.

The headpiece was created at the 'Scrumblers Unite!' Forum-within-a-Forum, held as part of the TAFTA Forum, held in Geelong, Victoria, in Southern Australia in late 2003. This form was selected because of its resistance to the rigours of international travel. The course tutor, Susie Bowring Miller, was inspirational and has made a visit to Helen’s home in Yorkshire since the event.
