Pauline says: "As one of the workshop stations, we all made pieces to fit cardboard shapes. This is the completed group project.
I decided the overall shape should be a rectangle as a reminder of the first square of the first Morecambe Summer School in 1977. Then I used a near black navy blue in remembrance of the second summer school group shapes with the stained-glass window effects. Finally I used the idea of fitting into an exact edge, which came from the third summer school group contribution.
Considering the strong characters of the lovely people attending this workshop I think the whole came together in harmony. Not a freeform work of art perhaps but certainly an indication that whoever we are and wherever we come from and whatever level of skill we are at, we can work together in harmony and joy." |
