Far Left:
Sylvia modelling a full-length cape, based on the shape of a moth,
from one of her ready-to-wear collections of the 80s. The yarn
fringe shows the yarns – brushed mohair, mohair loop and
chenille – all dip-dyed by hand in a myriad of closely related
shades and tones.
Centre left: 'Peacock' Butterfly – Sylvia's first experiment
of this kind.
Centre right: 'Midnight' Moth – A more abstract design
from the ready-to-wear collection.
Far right: A commission, based on an Eyed Hawk Moth –
mostly hand-dyed yarns.
