Forum Dates (Arrival & Departure)

The dates of the Geelong Forum are
Sunday, 26 September to Saturday, 2 October, 2004

We know it can be awkward to co-ordinate flights, buses, trains, taxis, but unfortunately, we can't cater for early arrivals
– we are only open to receive people at
Geelong Grammar School (GGS)
from 1:30pm on Sunday, 26 September

• Classes operate on Mon/Tue/Wed/Thur/Fri
• Wednesday is 'free time' from around 2pm
• the final Saturday is 'Open House' day

Everyone must depart by
2pm on Saturday, 2 October

Travel by Air

Arrival:

The pre-conference newsletter is very comprehensive and includes a lengthy description of travel options, but it doesn't come out until about six weeks before the Geelong Forum commences.

At least the timetables we cite in the newsletter are reasonably current at that time! However, you may wish to know more, sooner.

Most people fly into
Melbourne and get the Gull Airport service to Corio Village
which is the shortest cab ride to Geelong Grammar of all available stops on Gull (perhaps A$12 for a cab)

If enough people on your Gull Airport bus want to go to Geelong Grammar, the driver will in fact bring you into the central car park at the school, but it can't be guaranteed. Do tell the driver your final destination is GGS

Departure:

We operate a coach service direct from
Geelong Grammar School (GGS) to the airport,
departing from GGS at 3:15pm sharp from the main Car Park
– cost is A$25 –
(you book this when you get your conference newsletter in mid-August, 2003.)

You should get to your departure spot at the airport by 4:30pm latest

Travel by Train

Corio station is the closest train station to Geelong Grammar, but we cannot meet you on arrival.

The station is just a station – it is not in a town or village. There is a phone, so you can call a cab, but it is much the best, if you have a mobile phone with you
